trio's gone and sfogliatelle
I noticed that Trio's on Hanover St is now vacant. That's too bad their lobster ravioli was the best.
I had to comfort myself with finally trying a sfogliatelle at Modern. It was still warm from oven.
DELICIOUS!! warm flaky pastry and creamy almond filling, who knew?
I'm not surprised Trio's is gone. I know their pasta was excellent, but they were featured on the North End episode of the Phantom Gourmet show, and I was cringing because they showed the two women who run the shop making pasta, and neither of them were wearing hairnets or gloves. I'm not a germophobe, but I kept hoping that they were just doing a demo, because it was just gross. One kept saying how they put love and "a bit of themselves" into their pasta, and I couldn't help thinking "probably more than we know" from how it looked on the show.
