Ramps in Framingham area?

Westy Aug 27, 2002 10:14 AM

Does anyone know if ramps (the vegetable that looks like a scallion, but has a much stronger flavor) are available near Framingham?

Thanks in advance,

Aren't ramps only available in the spring?

Early spring, I think. I've seen them at Drumlin Farm (in Lincoln, but not that far). but it's hit or miss. While you're at it, try their sausage and other meat. Frozen, but wowee.

Ramps are wild leeks and are only available early spring (March-April). They were available in Framingham at the Wholefoods on Route 9. I'm hoping they'll have them again next year.
