Cafe Louis review

Have been to lunch at Cafe Louis in Back Bay, but went out for dinner last night there for the first time. The owners who run the famed Al Forno in Providence operate this restaurant.

Overall, extremely expensive, but a very pleasant evening. We sat outside, where a duo and vocalist played/sang bossa nova music. Nothing like Jobim on a summer's eve. Apparently, they play every Wed and Fri evening.

Very tight menu and good selection of Italian wines. We started off with their famed grilled pizza. It was my wife's first trip to the restaurant, and she oood and ahhed here way through that course. We then shared a linguini with ragu sauce: simply put, one of the best I've ever tasted. Oven-roasted halibut concluded our meal. We had no room for desert. Portions were incredibly huge. Service was very friendly.

Not a bargain, but a fun treat during a summer's evening. We'll be back.
