Do Boston Chefs make use of this Board?

I understand people in the restaurant industry are encouraged to post, provided they are open about who they are and for whom they work. When I followed and posted on the Los Angeles board, restaurateurs would occasionally comment. For example, a Valentine's Day reservation policy enraged some LA hounds, and the owner of the restaurant in question clarified and defended her position. It has occurred to me that the information and opinions about service, menus, dishes that work and those that do not could be of tremendous use to savvy chefs, managers and/or restaurant owners. I believe Galleygirl mentioned the talented folk at Khao Sarn monitor the board, and am wondering if others do the same?

  1. If they do, they're not saying.... altho Helen Rennie, who posts here on occasion, teaches cooking classes at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education. She's just not saying either! ;-)

I worded my post poorly. Know posters on other boards let slip to chefs, etc., when comments pro and con their restaurant come up on a board. Wondered whether posters here did the same.

        I do.

Oh, are you a chef? Didn't know... do your other chef friends lurk on this board? Tell all!!!

Actually, my response was to Coyote's post which was as follows :".... Know posters on other boards let slip to chefs, etc., when comments pro and con their restaurant come up on a board. Wondered whether posters here did the same."
I meant that yes, I do let chefs, etc. know when their restaurants are commented upon. I apologise for my confusing post.
And while I'm not a professional chef, I'm a pretty mean cook (this is according to my friends, not just my not-so-humble opinion!)

I am a chef at a restaurant in Boston and I've just discovered this site. I definitely will be keeping up with it, but not to see what's being said about my restaurant, but to find hidden gems (thanks for good reviews, though). I love to find unassuming restaurants that blow you away with their food, whether high-end or clam shack. I can't wait to go through these posts and eat my way through the Boston area. Take care all.
