Pleasant Cafe Roslindale

enjoyed a pleasant evening at the pleasant cafe in roslindale. dining-car-ish decor includes real wood paneling, and booths. place was clean, lighting was good -- great double date place. old-fashioned menu included fish'n chips, prime rib, fried fish, spagetti, burgers, etc. The steak was perfectly prepared and delicious. extensive fish'n chips and prime rib were fine - not fabulous. prices are good. $90 w/ tip for dinner meals, apps, cocktails and beers for 4 hungry folks. order the sirloin steak or the swordfish skewers.

  1. Try the Pizza. My wife used to live in Roslindale before we got married and we would get the Pizza from there at least once a week. One of the best Pizza's I have had.

I remember the Pleasant Cafe from a long time ago. Is it safe to venture there after dark?

I lived in Boston for twenty years..moved to the cape 10 years ago..and the thing I miss most is the Pleasant Cafe. my friends Lorraine, cindy and I would go there every friday.
People there were great...Charlotte, Barbara and linda were just three of the waitresses there...they were always pleasant...and one of the owners,,,Jack Jr. was great too.

Not only were their pizzas great....all their food was.

I bowled on the bowling team for a few years too.

anyone remember me ...please don't hesitate to e-mail me.

I grew up in Roslindale. Metropolitan Ave. then Beechland St (the projects) almost across the street from the Pleasant. The best pizza ever and that was 45 years ago. So glad to know the Pleasant is still up and running and as good as ever. To return there is definitely on my bucket list.

This thread was 10 years old, but it is true that the Pleasant is still as good as ever. In fact it may not have changed since. Still a bargain and a hoot and the food is tasty.
