Has anyone heard of Gavin's in Middleton?

Bill "the account" Apr 16, 2002 07:51 PM

I booked a reservation for 10 at Grill 23 for my co-workers and I. Now our boss "suggested" we have it at Gavin's in Middleton because the owner is a friend. He insisted the steaks are better. Has anyone ever been to this place?

One of my co-workers does a bunch of business there, it is definitely aiming to be the Grill 23 of the North Shore. They have a good but not terribly exciting wine list, lot of big Cab styles as expected. The steaks are good and it is as close to a Boston type atmosphere as you can find up there.

I would definitely recommend it. A good friend of mine who's a steak house fan (Grill 23, Abe and Louie's, and Capital Grille) recommended this place. I was a little skeptical because this establishment had gone through so many owners - comedy club, Thai restaurant, etc. However, I can HIGHLY recommend Gavin's - great food, wonderful specials, and friendly service. I hope it's here to stay.

I guess we'll have to give it a try. Living in Prides Crossing there's not a whole lot of option if any to choose from. (steaks) So if this place rates up there with Grill 23 and Abe & Louie's, it'll be a great option instead of traveling into town. Thank you for your inputs fellow hounds. I'll be sure to post a report.
