Scallop Cakes

  • 1

Chowhound alert!!!!!! In Nova Scotia or New Brunswick, you must try the ubiquitous Scallop Cakes. Like a 'fish stick' but round, served on a bun or english muffin. Some are baked, some deep fried; we bought a case (36) and these little guys are a taste of heaven!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. These sound like they're basically crab cakes with scallops, no?

No they are nearly solid scallop thruout. Thats whats is great about them. But thats not a bad idea!!

    2. In Yarmouth NS, take the road out to the light house. Just outside the parking lot to the light house is a little trailer type of snack bar. They sell a scallop burger, which is a bunch of very fresh Digby scallops deep fried together served together on a hamburger roll. Sounds simple, but haven't tasted anything like anywhere else.
