Great Italian Food

Epicurean Feb 5, 2002 09:38 AM

I have had wonderful Italian food at Prezza in the North End on Fleet Street and Bambino's in Malden on Highland Ave. I believe that Bambino's is owned by the Joe Tecce family. Prezza wins hands down and is an entirely different league than Bambino's. The food there has been awsome and the desserts are unbelievable.

For everyday faire I will take Bambino's. They have a great house salad with their own dressing that is a meal in itself. They also have great fissuli with eggplant, basil and tomatoes that is wonderful. Never had a bad meal and their fish and everything is always fresh. The broiled scallops were great. Worth giving it a try.

And, while you are in the neighborhood, check out DiPietro's on Highland Ave for a specialty pizza item that has nearly become extinct these days: beautifully thin-sliced meatball. The genuine article.
