While eating my Sunday breakfast of poached eggs on English, I mentioned that I haven't had huevos rancheros since Pentimento in Cambridge closed...Anyone know where I can get them in Boston?

The Blue Shirt cafe in lovely Davis Square has good huevos rancheros on weekends.

I have had or tried very good versions both at Tremont 647 and at Centre Street Cafe in JP - although there are a lot of variations on the Huevos Rancheros theme.

The dish at Centre Street Cafe was a special, but they often have eggs with a Southwestern Theme.

        Do they do brunch?

Try Taqueria la Mexicana in Union Square, Somerville, for huevos rancheros on weekends. (Sorry if this post appears twice--browser trouble.)

Ole in Inman Sq. does brunch. Haven't been but the menu looks pretty good.

I've been to Ole for dinner (twice) and been happy with the food and service both times. The appetizers were all excellent. The first time, I had a soup with hominy as an entree--it was excellent. The second time, I tried the pork chop wrapped in banana (was it banana?) leaves. Unfortunately, it was dry and rather flavorless. If I recall correctly, the waiter noticed I hadn't eaten much of it and cheerfully brought me something else. Deserts were excellent, too.
One can only assume that their brunch is equally good.

Yep. And you'll be standing outside for a long time waiting. Not sure what the best times (if any) are to try to hit Centre St. without a line for brunch.
