duck at King Fung

  • 9

I think the latest plan is for dinner at 6:30 on Monday..10/29..how many are planning on coming. It is necessary to order the duck 1 day in advance..I will give them a call.

  1. As much as I'd love to, I'm relegated to maybe stealing a little duck skin if time and anyone there will allow that. I can't believe I've never had Peking duck.

    1. My schedule looks good for that night. I am looking forward to it. Such big rep for such a funky looking place.

      1. I'll be there, possibly with a friend or spouse.

        1. Good choice for the night, I am actually gonna be free. Count me in!

          1. 1 duck has been ordered and reserved for 6:30 Monday..10/29...so far it looks like 4 or 5 of us...and Frank is still trying to make it..and we need to save some skin for Joanie. KF suggests 1 duck feeds 3...so we will need a few more dishes..which is fine...or if anyone thinks we should get a second duck??? just a thought...

I'll be there, but only as a mallard-voyeur, so the less duck the better, cuz then you guys'll wannah get LOTS of other dishes, my thinly veiled reason for going!!

It looks like lots of folks coming, which is great. The problem with ordering in advance is doing last minute RSVPs, so we'll probably need to order more dishes. That's fine too. My question is, being a first-timer, how do we recognize eachother? Look for the group salivating in the corner? Is there a secret handshake? A uniform?

Me? I'll be wearing a puffy vest AND salivating in the corner at the thought of Peking Duck.

Great duck. Great company. Nice leather jacket. But next time, just the duck and dumplings.

King Fung is an amazingly small place. There is one table that's sort-of designated for Peking Duck parties. It's the largest table and it's right behind the door -- it's also the only table not resembling a booth against a wall. If you're the first person to show up just tell the nice waitress (there are 2 and they're both nice) you're with the Peking Duck party, and if possible drop the name that was given with the duck reservation. If you show up and there are some people at the previously described Ducking Table it's a safe bet that they're part of the Chowhound group. If more than 5 people show up there may be some spillover to other tables as well...

I just called to reserve the big table...David

                2. I'm sure it's listed somewhere, but what's the address?

kneeland between Hudson and Tyler, I think, but by now you are probably already on the way. Soon so will I be.

                  2. I have already RSVP'd during the last round of postings. Hope I didn't miss out on this by not checking over the weekend. I will be showing up at 6:30 anyway...See you all there!

                    1. Well, after my hyperventilations on the subject I do hope you guys find the duck experience to your liking this evening. I'm going to make a valiant attempt to stop by and extend a warm What-ho in the general direction of all the duck-eaters who fall under my eye, but shall leave the actual consumption to the uninitiated.

                      1. I have to beg off; as much as I'd LOVE to watch you guys eat duck, I'm a little under the weather :( Hope it's all it was quacked up to be!! Sorry; couldn't resist!!
