House of Tibet Kitchen

  • p

since sept 11, we have not eaten out much.

In fact, the only place we have felt like eating
is the House of Tibet Kitchen on holland ave.
near teele square in somerville.

it is a quiet, almost reflective environment with
soft music playing--we could hear each other while
talking softly!

THe food is delicious, reasonably priced, and
a mix between Chinese and Indian foods.

The service varies--it is a small family joint
and sometimes the one or two waitresses are over-

We don't care. THey are NEVER rude--just obviously

Hot Buttered Tea (WHAT a comfort...)
Noodle Soups
Lentil Soup
Chili Chicken/Rice
Garlic Spinach/Rice

This is becoming our favorite restaurant in the
area and we encourage everyone to go...

  1. I second the recommendation. The environment and the service is soothing. The food is also a true bargain (most entrees are under $8). The momo is great, as is the Tsel baklab(fried dough patties filled with potatoes and veggies). The curried potatoes with ginger, garlic, and coriander are excellent and mforting. Occasionally I've ordered a soup or dinner special that was practically tasteless while on other nights the same dishes were tasty, so quality varies just like it does in your own kitchen. But, there are more hits than misses here.
