I haven't been there for about a year and a half, and i know they've changed chefs since then. But they used to do a tasting menu, (you couldn't get it on weekends..) that was truly fabulous. It was 5 or 6 courses, with different wines with each one. You could specify if you wanted only seafood,(in my case), or whatever. It was $50 or $60, I think, and a great bargain, IMHO!!!!! There were more than satisfactory samples of the most wonderful treats, more on some courses, and it seemed like a full dessert--I still remember that quince tart,and I'm not even a dessert person! I went with a group of 5 or 6, and they still talk about it!! It wan't on the menu; you had to ask.
Marcuccio's is a delight. I've been several times. They always create the menu around fresh ingredients. A nice feature is that all pasta can be half-orders, allowing you to try more dishes. The staff is helpful and the food is perfectly prepared. And they take reservations, even on weekends, even for small parties. Only drawback is that it's noisy.
I had a most pleasurable dining experience at Marcucio's. The atmosphere and service were great and the food scrumptious. The night we went the Chef cooked up a special appetizer and sent around samples to each table. I hear he does that every night. The centerpieces are fresh herb plants and you are welcomet to snip from them and add to your meal. The menu is limited but the quality of the food is wonderful. Nice wine list too.
