I heard that Apizza Scholls does not offer takeout for their pizzas. Is this true?

They don't let you call ahead and order. They have takeout (unless something has changed).

As of a couple weeks ago, I was able to get two pizzas to go. You can not call ahead but you can take them out.

Actually, it's a bit more complicated than that. When they are busy, they do not permit takeout orders. They will let you sit at the bar, space permitting, and order one of their small pizzas. And you can also ssit at the bar and order a large pizza and, after a slice (or, better, two, so as not to be TOO obvious), you just say, "gosh, I guess I wasn't as hungry as I thought -- could I have the rest in a box?"

We haven't allowed take out for about 2 months now. We simply cannot meet the demands of in house dining (we sell out nightly without take out) as well as take out. Slow food does not come in quantity.

Depends. Sometimes they do. Sometimes they don't. One night we went and they had a sign that said no pizzas to go. We decided to go there spontaneously last night and, while there was a line to get in before 5:00, the place never filled up all the way during the time we were there. That was a shock to me. After all it was Friday night. Perhaps the fresh blush has worn off. I thought for sure it would be packed to the gills, as usual, especially since getting yet another mention in The Oregonian as one of the 100 Best restaurants. They've got a new pizza on the menu, too. I can't remember the name of it, but apparently it's a white pizza with salt. We may try it sometime in the future, but I'm a creature of habit and love the Margherita. Best regards,Amanda
