Lynn, Swampscott, Marblehead

  • c

I visit my in-laws regularly and am stunned by the bad restaurants I've eaten at over the past 20 (!) years. Any suggestions for MODERATELY PRICED, decent food in this heretofore culinary wasteland?

  1. Try some of the asian holes-in-the-wall places in Lynn. Your aboservations are largely correct but the new place on the beach in Swampscott is supposed to be good but the names esecapes me - Red Rocks or something like that at the very end of the beach. Got soused there once and anjoyed the appetizers but thats not a valid test! The Thai place is also good. Finz in Salem is good but it ain't cheap!

WHAT Asian holes-in-the-wall in Lynn???? I don't get ther much, but I gottah know!!!

    2. Isn't there a restaurant in Marblehead called Stonehendge that's supposed to be good? Or something like that. I've got it written down after reading about it but have never been.

      1. I haven't been, but have heard good things about the Red Rock Bistro in Swampscott. It supposedly has a wonderful view overlooking the beach and ocean and great food. They have live jazz some nights also.

        1. If you like Mexican try the Rio Grande in Marblehead, they have great food and tasty/unique magaritas. I agree that FINZ in Salem is good yet pricey, just to warned they have a small menu so if your with a picky eater you may have a problem. The best Sushi place is Kami, not to far away in Beverly.

          1. Let me know what price range you are talking about. Moderate to me is inexpensive to my running buddy. We eat all over the North Shore and are always looking for new food.
