Seeking Superb Cannelloni
watch for argentinian and uruguayan places.
for some reasons, these Italian-blooded south american countries have been preserving the canneloni tradition more than even the Italians, who rarely seem to make them (though I suspect someone will correct me on this!).
Good Argentinian/Uruguayan restaurants almost always make good cannelonis, usually with a choice of red or bechamel sauce.

A quick search on the web turns up an Argentinian restaurant in the North End: Monica's, at 143 Richmond St. An article in a North End magazine mentions the Argentinian/Italian connection, and mentions a fresh pasta list of 19 homemade varieties. Who knows?
