Surprise in the sticks

Had my first taste of kushari at, of all places, the Bolton House of Pizza on Rte. 117. Who'd'a thunk it? Must've been a special - it was advertised on a piece of cardboard tacked to the wall, not on the regular menu (which does, however, feature filafil). Anyway, I loved it - after all, what's not to love - sometimes the simplest foods can be the best. And I wonder how the chef got his onions so perfectly and uniformly brown and crispy. Probably by deep-frying. I'll be back that way from time to time and will eventually report my opinion of the filafil. Might even get around to trying the pizza...
