My wife and I and some friends will be spending this weekend in Boston. We will be staying at the YMCA at 150 Second Avenue in Charlestown.

Can any one recommend any good restaurants for Friday and Saturday dinner, and Sunday brunch? We are open to all kinds of foods (especially sea food) and don't want to spend a whole lot of money (up to $20 a main course). Liquor is not a necessity.

Thank you all Boston Chowhounders! If you ever need any good recommendations for NYC, please feel free to call on me.

Steve

  1. If you're staying in Charlestown, I'm sure you will receive a lot of recommendations for Todd English's restaurant Olives. It's probably right up there at about $20 for an entree, but you really should try to get a reservation (may be already too late for this weekend). Upscale Italian. I would also recommend a drink at Warren Tavern in Charlestown for the atmosphere, very old colonial New England. I think they serve food, but I can't vouch for its quality. Olives also has a lower priced pizza restaurant, Figs, nearby in Charlestown, which I recall was pretty good, with inventive thin crust pizzas, but I haven't been there for a while. Have fun!
