Fried Chicken in Boston?

I recently moved here from Oakland, CA and am missing the crisp, moist, near greaseless fried chicken ala Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles. I don't dare hope for both excellent chicken and waffles in the same joint, but is there any good fried chicken to be had in Beantown?

One of the oldest restaurants specializing in fried chicken is located in West Roxbury. I have been there very sporadically in the past several years. Not sure how they are doing these days.

Chicken and waffles is defnitely legendary. I'm still searching for fried chix revelation, but there are a few places that do a decent job: Chef Lee's Soul Food (Dorchester, I think), bob the Chef's, even Summer Shack as a hit-or-miss version (one night mine was miss, my friend who dined an hour earlier a major connection). If you're real hardcore, you might try trawling through JP, Dorchester, and MAttapan, where soul food restaurants tend to cluster. I'm sure there's something near-legendary for 617 out there. Just haven't found it yet.
