Campbellsville, Ky

My wife and I will be stopping over in Campbellsville, Kentucky and will need a place to eat dinner. We're big on the down home cooking (She's southern). You know, the meat and three kinda places. Wherever the locals eat is always a good bet.

Bump. Anyone got any type of recommendation in the area? Anything at all?

Wow, you realize this is possibly the first thread I ever posted on CH??

Anyway, the best I can do is offer a place in nearby Munfordville.
Big Bubba Bucks Belly Bustin BBQ Bliss. This place is on my radar and is supposedly fantastic.

I've been here about a month now. This place is a bust. Fortunately I like to cook and have access to good farmers otherwise I might move prematurely!

Are you talking about Bubba Buck's or the area in general??

Haven't made it to Bubba Buck's. It looks to be about 40 miles or so away.

The area in general is a bust. And while I have been known to eat pretty much ANYthing sold from the back of a van, served out of a Home Depot bucket, in a 3rd world country...I'm betting you could get seriously ill eating at the establishments in this town.

I understand that there are good restaurants in Louisville.

Mrs. Sippi and I both loved Bubba Buck's. She had the catfish and it was excellent. I had a BBQ platter with Ribs, (very good), pulled pork, (good) and pork loin (fantastic).

The deserts were fabulous. The banana pudding was well executed and the apple black berry cobbler was one of the best cobblers I've had.
