Wow - I didn't expect to see this here! I live in Mountain Home and the pickings are slim. You can get a decent meal at Dukes. You can also go to Big Creek Golf and Country Club. I know you can pay as a member or member of another club and the slips have a cash option so they may have a non-member option. Call Mary at 870.425.0333 and she'll fill you in - she's great and would probably work something out for you. If you're looking for local stuff like fried fish try Freds Catfish house. C's Halmark has a little cafe inside that has nice lunches. Brent's bar-b-que is very good. Calico rock is about 30-45min from Mountain Home and there is a place there called Don Quixotes that is good. I don't know which direction you'll be coming from but if you go through Harrison stop at Neighbor's Mill for lunch. Fantastic! And buy the Seasame Sunflower bread if your are there on that bread's day. You can email me for more information if you would like. Enjoy your stay!

Is Gaston's Resort at Bull Shoals State Park still open? I've had some pretty good meals there.

Yes - Gastons is there and they are really good. I always forget about them because we are closer to Lake Norfork and Gastons is quite a drive away. The smoked trout appetizer alone is worth going for.
