just a quick post... had dinner there last night. packed on a friday at 8:30 (big surprise there, right?) excellent focaccia, good veg minestrone, REALLY good duck confit and goat cheese pizza with shaved fennel salad, fair pork "porterhouse" over risotto. risotto tasted like it was finished with cream (a no-no in my book), pork was a tad overcooked and undersalted, and if you're going to call it a porterhouse and charge $19 for it, don't cut it a half-inch thick. it did have both sides of the cut, so technically i guess it was a porterhouse, but i was a tad disappointed. papardelle with shrimp and shrimp-mushroom broth was pretty good, though--nice fat shrimp, robust sauce, and good snap on the veggies. their dessert menu needs some help (or some better writers), because nothing really seemed appealing. all in all, good meal, though. i'm just not gonna get pork next time.

I enjoy Pop's . The service is always good and the food can be outstanding. The drinks are good as well. Whenever I go back "home" from San Francisco I make a point to eat at Pop's (as well as Blue Corn and that french place where the Pizza Palace used to be off 9th St).
