I'm looking for catering recommendations in the Richmond VA/Northern Neck area. Any cuisine or price range is fine as we're just starting to look into options for an 06' wedding, as long as the food is good. I would much rather have an amazing barbeque buffet than a middling sit down dinner. Thanks

  1. Where is Northern Neck? I was married in Deltaville 9 years ago and had a great caterer. It was WAY better than BBQ. If this is anywhere near where you are looking, I will find his name. He was actually in Irvington/Klmarnock area.

    1. I hope you realize that you are covering a wide area. Richmond to Kilmarnock in the Northern Neck is about 75 miles.

Many people in the NN have their weddings catered at the Tides Inn. It is very pricey.

        1. Actually, I meant "Where IN Northern Neck" not "is". Obviously, I know where Northern Neck is.

The guy I used used to own a restaurant call Willobys and his name was Will Barnhart, I think.
He was really great. I recall looking all over and only finding a couple options and he ended up being the only real option. He and his staff were very professional. The great thing about doing a wedding in Northern Neck was that they all were used to working together. Will said, go around the corner to the rental place and tell him what you need and he and I will talk and make it happen. He got me a bartender to work the bar (I bought my own liquor, etc.) He got my cake made, everything. They say the food was great, I never got any. No wait, I had leftover crab dip the next day and it was really good.

I guess the Tides was an option, but I never considered it. WAY out of my budget. We did stay there on our wedding night. Left our reception and got there by boat.

          1. There is a place called River Market in Whitestone (just South of Kilmarnock). He rocks!
