Shreveport-Bodacious

I will be in Shreveport next month and am researching local chow before my trip...

One Shreveport website carried a listing for BBQ restaurants, including BODACIOUS BBQ. Can any of you Shreveport Chowhounds tell me if this is the same "Bodacious" chain with restaurants in Marshall, Longview and elsewhere?

Many thanks for any help you can give me.

Although not BBQ, two places I enjoy eating in the Shreveport/Bossier city area are Bella Fresca on Line Ave and Lucky Palace in Bossier City.

yes it is the same chain but not as good. while it is the best bbq in shreveport it is not as good as the other bodacious bbq's in texas. but try noble savage and the cub for great food in shreveport. enjoy!

Thanks very much for the info!

I'm waiting on a street map of Shreveport from AAA, to check on the locations of the restaurants vs. where I'm staying.

With luck I'll be able to try all the places mentioned in the previous responses.

        Thanks again,

If you want barbecue, try Country Tavern, it is behind the automall of of Bert Kouns. And dont worry about driving everywhere in Shreveport, Most things are so close, it shouldn't matter where you stay.

Beforewarned as well that the cub is very smoky and is a dive bar with a tiny restaurant attached, make sure you get the potatoes and a steak.

Thanks for the heads-up on Country Tavern. Is that any relation to the Country Tavern in Kilgore, TX?

AAA is sending me a Shreveport map, so I will have a feel for where things are located. I'm looking forward to seeing the city for the first time.

            Much obliged for your help.

Country Tavern in Shreveport is owned by the same folks who have had the Country Tavern outside Kilgore for many years. Haven't been to the one in Shreveport, but since Lois, the matriarch, died a couple of years ago, the one in Kilgore has tried to go more upscale and it's not like before.

No, It is not affiliated with the Texas chain. I worked there part time for nine years and had to inform the uninformed of it. Also, the resturant is in Bossier City at 4706 Barksdale Blvd. Tell them John said hi..(I know the post is from 2005)
