More or less. We'll be in that area -- NE Glisan & I think it's 60th or so -- Thursday evening. Not Thai (sorta OD'd at this point.)
Thanks for the help.

I'm a little confused. I'm no expert on the Portland hospitals, but I thought the Adventist Hospital was out Mall 205 way, but that there's a Providence at like 50th and Glisan.

Yeah, I think that's Providence at NE 60th and Glisan. If indeed that's where you're going to be, the only thing I can think of in the immediate area is Cali Sandwiches, a bahn mi sandwich place at 66th and Glisan. It wouldn't be a long drive to the Hollywood area (~40th and Sandy), where you have Lagniappe, Laurelwood, My Canh, Hama Sushi, and Pal's Shanty.

Yeah, I agree with Hollywood, though there's also La Parilla, a decent enough taqueria on Glisan near Providence. I think Providence is closer to the 40s and 50s than the 60s, though. If it were the 60s, you'd be jumping across the interstate and hitting Sandy near the Vietnamese places I just reported on, plus Thien Hong. btw, the last time I went by Arabian Breeze, Nicholas's new place, was looking close. But that and Lagniappe are more in the 30s on Broadway, I think.

You may just want to explore Glisan a little. I know there are concentrations of little neighborhood places just shy of 47th, over near 60th, etc. I think they're mostly pizza and cafes, but maybe you'd find a gem.

Lagniappe is at 34th and Broadway, and Arabian Breeze will be at 32nd and Broadway. That's a little farther away, but Lagniappe is one of the better places in the general area so it might be worth it.

Every time we drive by Arabian Breeze we try to see if it looks like it will open soon--it's getting there very slowly!

DUH, meant Providence, of course.
Just the thought of being NEAR a hospital makes me nervous. And we're not even going there, just somewhere near there.
Skipping over to Hollywood is a good idea.

I only stopped in for a slight quasi-lunch bite one day and haven't tested it hard, but I was sort of taken with Cool Runnings, a Jamaican joint on Fremont at about 41st, if memory serves. . .
