Felix' Fish Camp on Battleship Parkway in Mobile has excellent seafood. Very casual, but good. And, just off I-10 (Water Street exit as you come out of the tunnel) is Rousso's Restaurant which also has very good seafood. These places are "easy off-easy on" for I-10.

If I were hopping off I-10 in Mobile I would stop at either Wintzell's on Dauphine or the Blue Gill on the causeway. BTW, the Blue Gill got a blurb in Southern Living in the past month or so. I have to say that while Russo's used to be one of our favorites on trips to Mobile we haven't been as pleased in recent years.

Another favorite of ours is the White Cap in Gulfport. Good fried seafood. Off 90 so you would have to dip down off I-10.

Just two blocks south off I-10, Davis Hwy exit in Pensacola,is Tudo's, a great Vietnamese joint located in an old Hardee's. Actually its not really a joint, but a very attractive place. Great Goi Ga, bun, and soups.

You could stop in Slidell at any number of places for great catfish, hushpuppies and gumbo. Hold off for Lafayette, La. Cajun country. Prejeans - 348 I-49 N. Langeaux's - 445 Ridge Rd. Both cajun. In Breaux Bridge, just a little off the highway (follow signs) is Mulate's. The orginal cajun restaurant. If you detour into New Orleans, then you will never get ot Texas.
