Flying Biscuit: the best biscuit that I've had in the Atlanta area. A post-hippie atmosphere, pleasant and efficient service, except on Saturday or Sunday mid-mornings, when the place is packed to the rafters. Also, great fried potatoes, and other good breakfast items.

Java Jive: a very good biscuit, with a much more distinguished cup of coffee. Eggs, pancakes, waffles, sausage, bagels, etc. area all very good. A very interesting blend of post-punk managers and staff, 1950's decor, and very good, mostly early 20th Century, jazz music. A wonderful breakfast experience.

Another recommendation, not that their biscuits are particularly mind-boggling, though they are definitely above average, would be the Crescent Moon Cafe, in Decatur. Quite good coffee, pancakes, waffles, great Italian sausage, split and grilled, really good fried potatoes, and, on Saturday and Sundays, excellent Eggs Benedict!

Tell us where you wind up, and how you like it!

Hands down is Bobby & June's Country Kitchen on 14th street west of 75/85. Not many places have the guts to use lard anymore, but it sure does make a tasty biscuit. Go for any of the breakfast meats--esp. country ham & red eye gravy--can't go wrong.
