With a name like Ram, I'm thinking a good breakfast and that doesn't always mean healthy.
Anyway, I am so looking forward to trying The Buckhead Diner. Perhaps you might want to do likewise. This is a place that once was discussed along with The Fog City Diner as two of the great new gourmet type diners in the country.
There have been some Hounds who complain the place is not what it once was. Perhaps...But, this is one I must try regardless of varied opinions. For me, its like finally getting to see a game in Wrigley Field, which I am doing this September. And, frankly how far has this place been allowed to decline when The Buckhead Group still operates it. These guys know what they are doing.
Anyway, we're also going to try The Flying Biscuit, which apparently everyone says is great. I guess, to be safe, that's the one you might want to go for.
Incidently, I heard Murphy's in The Highlands has a terrific Brunch. They have a website. Check it out.
We're really looking forward to visiting Atlanta. I'll report back on Sotto Sotto, Bones, The Flying Biscuit, Buckhead Diner, Atlanta Fishmarket and hopefully Murphy's.
Yeah, Yeah. All the safe, well-known places. Hey, I'm not much for experimenting when I only have 4 days in a new town. Let me at the places that have stood the test of time or receive positive reviews from foodies I respect.

I was hesitating to respond to this b/c I thought I'd make too many smartass comments. I'll try to restrain myself.
I just don't get the whole "healthy breakfast" request. If you want a healthy breakfast, stay home or in your hotel and have a bowl of cereal w/ lowfat milk. Unless you get that, a bagel, or a bowl of oatmeal eating out, there isn't much breakfast food out there that's going to be very healthy. That said, there's certainly a lot of it that's very good, just not good for you. Although, there's always the maxim- all things in moderation. We just don't eat it out much because I mostly feel like a brick and want a nap afterward.
Several years ago, we made the mistake of eating breakfast at the counter at Crescent Moon in Decatur. We then observed the large tub of clarified butter being liberally applied to literally everything being cooked.
I haven't been to The Buckhead Diner since they revamped the menu in the last year or so. IMHO, it's generally a safe bet that the food will be good there. The Buckhead Bread Co/Corner Cafe across the street also does a good job w/ breakfast/brunch. Both are part of the Buckhead Life Group, which also includes the ATL Fish Market, and we think they do a good job, for the most part.
If you go to The Flying Biscuit, esp. the original in Candler Park, get there early or expect to wait a while. It's perennially packed. And Murphy's was good the last time I had breakfast there, but it's been forever.
Other ideas:
Java Jive on Ponce- mmm, gingerbread waffles and lemon curd with a side of formica
Goldberg's on Roswell- for the bagel option, this is a good choice that's not an Einstein/Melvyn/etc. Not much room to sit, though.
Bagel Palace in Toco Hills- a popular choice with the NY/NJ expatriate Emoroids; great Jewish deli with a broad menu
OK Cafe- well, it's in Buckhead. And it's very popular for breakfast/brunch. Other than that, I haven't been in forever.
Harvest in Virginia Highlands- brunch there has been very good and reasonable for what you got. Again, that may be old intelligence at this point.

VERY healthy. Ask for extra tofu in your egg white omelet.

Tater, you deserve an "Attaboy" for that one!

Wait, was he serious? Maybe I need to go check this out. From the outside, neither seems like a tofu-friendly establishment. And even an egg white omelet will get cooked in the omnipresent fat, so it's not a total winner from that standpoint.

um, ted - I think Gator's having you on.
You might want to try the R. Thomas Deluxe Grill on Peachtree. They're open 24 hours, have tropical birds to look at, and are pretty aggressively healthy. In spite of or because of these things, the food is really pretty good, although the service can definitely be hit-or-miss.

This is a link to an ad they ran in the Aquarius paper - I couldn't find an actual site for them.

Is the White House still open on Peachtree? Just south of Piedmont, north of Roswell. That was a great place.

it was still there a couple of weeks ago when I drove past. There are certain "movers & shakers" in Buckhead/Atlanta that would never allow that place to close.

How 'bout Corner Bakery? Although everything has that neatly-ordered chain appearance, I think the food is pretty good. I know from experience you can get a fruit salad, and yogurt with granola. There is a large assortment of bread...choose one you know is normally low fat, like French. Personally, I get the chocolate cherry bread. You can dine outside if you consider Peachtree street across from the Swisshotel to be "atmosphere".
