We will be spending one night night of our vacation in Savanah and we're trying to figure out what restuarant to go to. We're leaning towards Lady and Sons--Input?
Lady and Sons is a great choice. The food is fantastic! The hoe cakes could actually melt in your mouth. If you like homecooking go here!
We had a memorable, delicious lunch there--I loved the food so much I bought the restaurant's cookbook there. I especially loved the greens, spiked with a peppery vinegar that's on all the tables (bought a couple to take back to Michigan!) I'd head out there right now,if I could!
Elizabeth's is an experience. I've had dinner there twice, the last time on my honeymoon....one of the most wonderful dinner's I've ever had. Service, atmosphere, interesting selection, freshest tastes..beautiful. A culinary adventure. And the cookbook there, Savanah Seasons reads like a Pat Conroy novel. A little pricey but well worth every cent!
If you've only got one night, then Lady & Sons is an excellent choice.I had the seafood boulliabaise(sp?).
It had a great variety of seafood in it and there was plenty of it. My son had the lamb. It was also very good, seasoned, but not to where you couldn't enjoy the meat.
Even though we were late diners, the service was still pleasant & efficient. Get a reservation now that every body is travelling.
My wife and I went to Savanah for our 15th wedding anniversary. We learned of Lady and Sons while on a carriage tour of the squares in town. The driver suggested them. We went that evening and had one of the best meals we have ever eaten. They have the best homestyle buffet you will ever sit down at. My wife ate the crab cake appetizer as a meal. Crab cakes don't come any better. We will go to Lady and Sons every time we are in Savanah. Bon Appetite
