Williamsburg with kids

  • j

Going to Williamsburg in May for a few days. Dinner is being comped one night by my company. What is the best restaurant in Williamsburg that I would feel comfortable bringing a 4 year old to?

  1. With all the families that flock to W-burg, I think you're pretty safe in any restaurant. We took our two to Chowning's Tavern--great southern fare, stews, fried chicken, and they loved it. With the exception of the pricey Inn (which struck me as being upscale and adult) almost anyplace you choose in the historic area will be good, and family friendly. When do you go? Be sure to post and let us know where you end up!

Any upscale places that allow kids? How is the Trellis. That is about the only highly regarded restaurant I could seem to find down there on the internet? Would they allow children?

Sorry, not familiar with the spot--How about calling them?

Just visited Williamsburg last week with our 10-year old daughter and we had dinner at The Trellis one evening. I would say about 20% of guests had children and there were quite a few items on the menu that she liked. Would definitely recommend for kids.

We're heading that way in a few months...what did you enjoy at Trellis?
