I know about the ribs and barbecue at Dreamland, but what about other recommendations?...especially interested in good seafood. Thanks much!

In Tuscaloosa, the Waysider on Greeensboro Avenue has great breakfast biscuits and creamy grits, served with a slab or three of streak-o-lean and -- in summer -- a slice or two of redripe homegrown tomato.

Don't know much about seafood 'round those parts...

    Good eating to you...

I just read something about the Cypress Inn in Tuscaloosa from a probable chowhound on the www.accessatlanta.com food forums. Check it out and let us know.

I'm generally only passing through Tusc and Dreamland's my required stop.

There are a couple of great places in Tuscaloosa to eat. For seafood, I would try either Cypress Inn or Armans. For steak, Coyote Cafe is great. Evangeline's in neighboring Northport always has something good on the menu. For old fashioned southern cookin' (not necessarily a chowhound's delight) you can't go wrong with City Cafe, if you can get in. As far as BBQ, Dreamland, no need to say anything else.
        Enjoy your visit!
