John T. Edge's Fine New Book

Chowhounds planning to travel through the South, or even planning to think about planning to visit the South, will appreciate the brand-new ``Southern Belly: The Ultimate Food Lovers Companion to the South'' by sometime Chowhound correspondent John T. Edge.
There is no finer guide to characteristic restaurants across the South, from barbecue pits to oyster houses, diners to boardinghouses than Mr. Edge's splendid volume. I am ready to book a plane ticket to Alabama right now!
Just got the book and it's great. I know John couldn't cover every little town in the South, but I hope a sequel will be forthcoming that will feature the Gulf Coast area, since there wasn't much in the book on this vicinity, and Florida isn't included at all.
We live in New Orleans and the book automatically opened the first time to Rocky & Carlos, one of our favorite NO experience outings. We are looking forward to trying some of the restaurants mentioned in surrounding small Louisiana towns.
