Nick,

Yeah... I was a little surprised at the name chosen. I hope that they don't confuse people, who might think that it is my establishment and product, but we are moving into Portland very soon anyway and we will be changing our name to Apizza Scholls... I think:)

Yeah, maybe China is opening up the shop using their Quisinarts, Kicchenaides, and All-Cladd.

So you guys will actually be *moving*, not just opening a Portland outlet? Will you be doing retail breads at your new spot as well?

I've been bad about coming out to your current location and always have it on my to-do list. Everyone loves it so much. I'd love to come take pics when you guys move.

Nick,

Unfortunately, the pizza biz overwhelmed us to the point that we had no time or energy to pay much attention to Olive Mountain Baking Co., so we decided to close Olive Mtn two weeks ago.

We are not opening up another location, but actually moving the entire operation into the SE area. I don't want to disclose the location until we sign on the dotted line, but we are only a few days away from doing so.

No worries on not making the 1/2 trek to Scholls yet...many who are interested in our product have not visited us yet, but that is all soon to change.

We would be more than happy to have you come into the new space and take pics of our process and product. We anticipate opening up January 2nd, 2005

Sorry to hear about Olive Mt. I guess if it was from being overwhelmed by the pizza biz, though, that's not so bad. Maybe in the future. Your only competition in SE for good breads is probably Grand Central. Look forward to hearing the good news when you sign on the dotted line.

You can find Ken's bread at People's Food Co-op, delivered every day I think... it doesn't get more SE then that!

I'm happy to hear about the relocation too.

wow...that is great news that Scholls Public House will be moving into Portland.

We made the trek out there for pizza two weeks ago, and loved it...great atmosphere too. But it is a pretty far drive, and we figured we probably wouldn't get back out there until we were on our way back from the Coast some weekend.

Is the bread coming back too? Olive Mountain was the only place in Portland, as far as I can tell, that made pumpernickel bread. Yum.
