best key lime pie in Bonita Springs/Fort Myers?

  • s

We're visiting next week from New England and I have a craving for the real thing: anybody know a place to get outstanding key lime pie in this area? Would prefer a place where it's made on the premises if possible.

  1. It would be a bit of a drive, but the best Key Lime Pie I've ever eaten in Florida is one made by a company called the Blonde Giraffe. The closest one to Ft. Myers is in Miami. Luckily, they do have a web site so maybe you could get a pie shipped home to you in New England once you're back from your trip. Be a great way to remember the sunny shores of FL.

    1. El Sibnoey is the best Cuban restaurant in Key West. They don't take reservations but if you order the "Paella" during the day you want to have dinner or lunch, call them & make your order over the telephone or do it there. Just make sure you do it three hours ahead of time & you won't have to wait. The food is really good & the price is very reasonable.

Posting error - sorry for the reply. Please dis-reguard.

      2. There's a restaurant called Bonita Bistro on Bonita Beach Road in a Comfort Inn (I know, but the chef owner rents the space-nothing to do with the hotel). The food is good- he makes everything fresh, including the key lime pie. No bottled lime juice here.

At the Ritz Carlton Naples, in their beach restaurant called Gumbo Limbo, they also make an outstanding key lime pie. It's their casual restaurant so it won't cost an arm and a leg. Go for lunch-great setting and excellent food. Be sure to get a mojito.

Thanks! We'll make a point of giving it a try.

a wonderful key lime pie is sold at Rhodes fish market on Bonita Beach road. You can have a slice at their restaurant or take home a pie from the market. It is terrific.

          2. For key lime pie and excellent home cooked type meals check out the Mel's Dinners. I think there are 3 or 4 in this area.

Agree with Denney only that I know of one in Bonita Springs, our 1st choice, in front of the AmericInn right off highway US 41 (South on your right) Tamiami Trail or next door to Brusters (Ice Cream place like Diary Queen) & the other one is located in San Carlos, just north (on your left) on US 41 or Tamiami Trail. They also pipe-in "Odies" music while you dine. Great breakfast as well.
