My sister told me that there was new management running the Cajun Cafe on the Bayou in Pinellas Park, FL and that the quality of the food was not up to the standard established by the original owners.

Has anyone eaten there lately and has the food quality gone downhill?

  1. I havent been there lately but I am still getting email updates from them and, according to those I don't see any change in management. I hope not.

    1. I'll be in that area in a week or two, and I'd love to eat there. Where exactly is it?

The address is 8101 Park Blvd., Pinellas Park. It is about two miles west of 66th St. N on Park Blvd. and on the north side of the road. BTW, here is their website:

Jumping in here to say, one of the easiest ways to find it on busy Park Blvd., is to look for their large sign and driveway JUST west of the HUGE Wagon Wheel Flea Market parking lot.

ne sure to have the crawfish cornbread. I really need a fix soon. and tell us how it was!

        3. I was there two weeks ago. The beer list is extensive and impressive. The service was friendly and warm. The food was super tasty and surpassed my expectations as I have avoided this place for years because of the sketchy location and restaurant sign. I would go back any day. Just a note.....for my husband and myself the meal was $60 (4 beers and two entrees). A little more expensive than I expected but well worth it. Enjoy!!

          1. My family and I stopped by at 2:30 pm on Saturday 4/14/12 for our first visit. Unfortunately, I didn’t see the crawfish platter on the specials board, so I ordered off of the main menu. The crawfish plates looked awesome (I didn’t see one until well after I ordered) and had to better than what I got. I ordered the house special, crawfish etoufee, with a $5 upgrade to dirty rice from white rice. Both were disappointingly flavorless compared to similar dishes I had in New Orleans. I would not consider ordering that dish again, esp. for $21 and certainly wouldn’t recommend it. My daughter got the Cajun pulled pork, which was also surprisingly flavorless and really didn’t taste any different from any other pulled pork I’ve ever had - sans BBQ sauce – and unfortunately it was overdone and dry as well. My daughter said she wouldn’t order that again or recommend it either. My wife had one fried soft shell crab in a basket and said it was okay. Total bill was $48 including one beer. Maybe someday we’ll go back and try the crawfish boil, but based on this experience, which included pretty slow service, I certainly wouldn’t recommend this place to others.

I've been a couple of times in the last year, I though the food and service was mediocre , I had the jambalaya ( decent). Étouffée ( bland), bread pudding. ( very good size portion and tasty, but not served warm enough).
