  1. My favorite spot is Fred's. It is on Osprey on the mainland. Great Sunday brunch as well as lunch and dinner. Food is wonderful and the price is not too bad.
    Fred's Restaurant
    1917 S. Osprey Ave.
    Sarasota, FL 34239
    Phone (941) 364-5811
    Fax (941) 366-2052

Morton's Market and wine shop are right across the street

We will splurge for a couple of meals. Others @$70.00-$100.00 per couple.
We enjo all sorts of food. Heard there were a couple of v.g. Thai places in the area

Sarasota is not known for good Thai Food....
For good fish, try BONEFISH on 41 south.
For excellent Steak, try Michaels on East
For excellent greek and pizza, try Dometrio's on 41 south. For a excellent meal go to Bijou on first st. If you want to try some unbelievable pastries, go to Pastry Art on Main Street. For breakfast go to Blue Dolphin in St.Armands Circle, or Serving Spoon on Osprey. For tarpas try Silver Cricket, which has been excellent and also a beautiful bar. Good luck

Bangkok Thai on Swift is decent.
Miss Saigon on 301 has excellent pho and other Vietnamese food.
Tondero in the plaza at Fruitville and Beneva has great Peruvian food, escpecially the ceviche.
Freds and silver cricket are average, mostly style over substance.

thailand restaurant on gulf gate drive is great

          2. Zoria's on Main Street is great for dinner. Epicure downtown is great for all meals. El Greco on Main Street is pretty good Greek food.

            1. For seafood, I would drive over to St. Armand;s Circle and eat at the Crab and Fin.

              1. I love Gallileo's. Never had a bad meal there! I'm a Realtor in Sarasota, and I take my clients there. They like it because the food is good and it's unpretentious. Nice view of the "boatyard" if you can get a table by a window. Located just south of the Stickney Point Bridge in "The Boatyard". Northern Italian Cuisine. Great Chilean Sea Bass.
