I was wondering if there are ANY Portuguese restaurants/bakeries/markets in the Pacific Northwest. I know that this part of the country is not noted for Portuguese immigration, but I figured I'll give it a shot.

The short-lived La Tienda Cadiz featured some Portuguese items, but I don't think there really is any place in Seattle now. There are a fair number of Portuguese restaurants in Vacouver, BC, but I've never tried any of them.

Aloha,
I haven't found any myself. By way of Hawaii, there used to be a bakery that made Portugese bread (pao duce) and doughnuts (malasadas) in Issaquah. Sad to say, family illness forced closure.

L&L Hawaiian Barbecue (19709 Hwy 99, Lynnwood)had malasadas on the menu a few months ago. Since I make my own, I can't say how good they are.

Being from Hawaii and having been exposed to some Portugese foods, I have to prepare them myself.

aloha and take care,
keo

Harvest Vine in Seattle features many Portugese items on their menu. They mix their offerings between Spanish, Basque and Portugese. Highly recommended.

Hi,

Since I been searching for a Portuguese restaurant too, I called "Harvest Vine" and they said they don't prepare any Portuegese dishes. However, they do prepare Spanish and Basgue dishes.

aloha and have a great weekend.

I think Lauro Kitchen in Portland has some, at least, "Portuguese inspired" dishes. I think Machado, the chef-owner, might be part Portuguese.

Other than that, I've had the occasional pocho moco (portuguese sausage loco moco) or whatever at Hawaiian places. Haven't seen malasadas around since my trip to the Big Island. Mmmm. Tex's Drive-In malasadas. See link.

Don't I wish there were some. I fell in love with it while living in New England.
Nearest places are in Vancouver, BC. Check the Canada board.
