We are staying at the Bailey House B&B and are interested in any new restaurants since last year's festival. Some of our favorites are the Golden Grouper, Horizon, Happy Tomato, the Florida House, the waterfront restaurant and, of course, the fun and tasty festival food -- shrimp fries, etc. We enjoyed an evening's dinner at a restaurant with a New Orleans-styled outdoor dining area and cannot remember their name. It was either on 2nd street or 4th street. The new hotel was just a street over from it. It was wonderful and we'd like to revisit it. Thanks for any info you can give us.

Have you heard of a restaurant on 8th Street called something like "Good to Go?" Is the "Nickel Pickle" still in business? Has anything moved into the space formerly occupied by the "Golden Grouper?"

Thanks for your input. What did you order at Cafe Karibo? You said lunch was better than dinner -- was it the food, prices or service? It's a shame that the Grouper is gone -- we've gone there annually over a number of years and enjoyed their chowder and seafood entres. The Happy Tomato has a dual entrance both on 3rd Street and from a Gift Shop on Centre Street. Excellent place for lunch -- nice umbrellaed courtyard. If you return, try out the sangria on Angel's Porch. It is delicious and distinctive. The owners are delightful people.

I just returned from Fernandina Beach and had a few good meals, the best of which was Joe's Second Street Bistro. I also had a couple good lunches at a place on 4th I believe, called Karibo Cafe, but dinner there was only so-so. There is a new Japanese place on Centre Street, which had really good sushi, but the Golden Grouper was out-of-business. Didn't come across the Happy Tomato.

Have a good time and don't eat too much shrimp.
