OK, a few of my girlfriends and I (law school friends) are going out for a girls' night tonight. We are starting at Vault - the newer martini bar in the Pearl - but want some other options. It's been a while since I have been out downtown (other than the monthly pilgrimage to Paleys), so any suggestions?

Other bars my wife and her pals have hit on girls night out (and other options) - Aura, Barracuda (god help us all), Brazen Bean, Bartini, Halocene, Tube and the Andrew Sugar bar whose name escapes me on NW Hoyt, around the corner from Oba.

I love Saucebox but it is really small, especially the bar area. Not a great group place.

I really like Aura for happy hour on W. Burnside across from Powells. $3 drinks (and they are good, as are the other more expensive ones you can get) and $3 plates of tasty things means you can eat and drink with abandon for around $20. The other menu choices are interesting and they do group munch platters for the entire table too. If you are there after happy hour, the drinks and food and decor are still worth paying for, IMHO.

They also have one of the coolest restrooms I've ever seen!! ;o)

I live near holocene (in SE on the corner of 10th and Morrison) and I like it (though I go for their queer womyn nights, not the general club thing) but I doubt you want to cross the river as you hop.

The Pilsener Room at Harborside has good drinks, a huge beer list, and a great $1.95 happy hour menu. They are on the west side, but may be too out of the way if you are starting in the Pearl...
