Okey dokey. It's on Oak St, a few blocks off of Carrolton (I feel sure you can easily find the address by googling). They only accept reservations for 5 or more. Directions from Harrah's (I saw your other posts) is take St. Charles west from Poydras about 6 miles to Carrolton. Turn right on Carrolton, then left at the first light at Oak St (up to this point can be done via streetcar). It's about 4 blocks down on Oak.

The wait on a weekend can easily be 1.5 hours. Tell the hostess you're going next door to the maple leaf. Get some drinks. Wait to be seated. Ask the bartender for a J-I menu so you can read through it. Even order an app if the wait is long.

With your entree order, you'll get cornbread, a salad, and pick of 2 sides. Eat up. It's very loud and crowded.

Anything else?

If the website doesn't dissuade you, the actual food will. One of the busiest bad restaurants in New Orleans. The food is creamy splooge which in itself is bad enough, but huge portions round out a truly horrid dining experience. If it's great food you're after, skip it. If you just want to get drunk in the most tacky room you'll ever see, you might like the novelty of it.

Detest this place. Food is mediocre. The attitude is obnoxious. The management nasty. But for some reason (hip) visitors to N.O. think they're getting some kind of of "authentic" experience.
Its so phony they even opened up a Jacque Imos on the Upper Westside of NYC. Go there instead if you must go at all and you probably won't have to wait in line.

3 or 4 years ago, Jacques-Imo's was one of my favorite restaurants in New Orleans. They could do no wrong in my book. However, my last 2 meals there were just bad. COLD food, always. The wait has become unbearable. The always spotty service has taken a turn for the worse. But really, the poor quality of the food has turned me off for good. Everything is covered in some (usually lukewarm) sauce that gobs up the meat or seafood.

The gumbo in the bread bowl is still good, but again it was lukewarm. Ditto the fried calamari. I had the fish with a cuban Mojo sauce that was just bad.

I've been to Jacques-Imo's twice while visiting friends in New Orleans. Both times, the food was outstanding. We had to wait what seemed like forever, but we had a couple drinks and made the most of it. If you go there knowing you could be waiting for quite a while (especially on weekends) you will definitely enjoy yourself tremendously! I'll be down visiting again in a week or so for Jazzfest and we've already made our reservation. Sure, you can't please everyone all the time, but for us - the experience has always been wonderful. Even the 4 NOLA natives that we visit love this place and continue to go there on a regular basis. Have fun if you wind up going there. I know I will!!

I'm a native of New Orleans and have been dining at Jacque-Imos at least once a month for what seems like forever. The trick is to go around 4:45-5:15 pm because it is early enough that you will be seated by 5:30 and can enjoy a good meal as long as you want. Its a great way to skip the whole 2 hour wait thing. Food is always delicious, very unique atmosphere, unique menu items. Nothing for me has ever been cold, best bet is to go early enough or make a reservation.
