It is filled with LSU/SEC memorabilia, but it isn't the cleanest place in the world. Plate lunches/specials are decent. In short, if you're in the neighborhood & don't want to re-park the car, you can get a decent lunch. I wouldn't go out of my way... Plus the Serio's have a very unsavory reputation in law enforcement circles after the owner and a couple of friends beat up a couple (M&F) and a third person (a woman)in an pre-dawn parking dispute during either Mard Gras or the Jazz Fest. The threesome tempted fate by parking in front of Serio's at a time when the boss hog wanted the space kept clear for his own purposes. You gotta like LSU a whole lot to deal with the grime and grease at Serio's. Unless you want to eat cheap in the CBD or Warehouse District go to Mother's. I read an account in the newspaper of a similar four on one beating involving a black gentleman who came to the defense of a lady whose car was being beat on as she tried to park in front of the restaurant during a weekday post mardi-gras. Apparently it was being investigated as a hate crime because witnesses heard numerous derogatory statements regarding the race of the victim. I won't spend my money there.
