What do you all think of Jacques Imos? I was thinking about making a reservation for during Jazzfest. Is it good? Great? Would my non-fish eating fiancee like it?

Also, I remember reading somewhere that you can do a search for posts about a specific thing. Can someone tell me how to do that? Thanks!

Some love it; others don't. I'm hoping to try it for the first time this year. And good luck getting a reservation. Your best bet is to go and hang out at the bar and have a good time while you wait the hour or so for a table to be available.

I do enjoy the rest of the food there, even the overly-greasy fried chicken, but just know what you're getting when you order veggies here.

The salad greens taste like roasted sawdust. To make up for this they tend to dip the salad in an overly-sweet vinaigrette. The mashed sweet potatoes are not a side dish, they're a dessert. The smothered cabbage tastes like it was smothered under three sacks of rock salt.

But, Lord, is that bouillabaisse great.

On the advice of many NO Chowhounders we went to Jacques-Imos in April. Fantastic and well worth the hour wait! We went next door and had a few beers while waiting for our table.

We ate our way through NO and I'd say that this is my number 2 favorite (upperline was number one)

Check it out, you won't be disappointed!
