So what is it with NO natives and Popeye's.
Loyalty?
Nostalgia?
Salt addiction?
I'm really curious about this.

My fiancee used to order the fried chicken livers with dirty rice for lunch. I have been hoping that he's quit eating that rot, but actually, I think that the fried livers have been dropped form the menu by the corporate office in Atlanta.

Livers are still available at various locations; depends on the neighborhood and management. A liver dinner combo is available for $3.49 at my neighborhood Popeye's...one of my personal favorites as well.

His (Copeland's) combination of spices really speaks to us down here. Although he has lost the chain he still sells the company the spices, I believe. The first time I had the chicken (after years of KFC) I was amazed. That was the best damn chicken I had ever had. The burn on the lips was a rush. The super crunch of the skin was incredible. I know of some people that go after only the skin. But not only that, Popeye's has very good sides as well. They have changed the biscuit recipe, though,. Al's biscuits were so soft they would stick to the roof of your mouth. No one makes better dirty rice, IMHO, and why not? Look at all the livers, gizzards and hearts they have on hand!
Now for those of you that think spicey hot chicken is abnormal what do you make of all the buffalo wings?
