Uglesich Closed?

My mother-in-law was in NO last week and tried to go to Uglesich's. It was closed. I'm heartbroken. Any news if this is seasonal or permanent? I don't live in NO and need some local eyes and ears

yes, the restaurant is closed - on rare occasion they cook for special local events, but not in the old restaurant

sounds strange, but they shut the restaurant down shortly before Katrina hit - talk about premonition!

Its open I was just there 2 days ago. Might have been just the day.

Fearing the worst, I just spoke with Gail Uglesich and they are definitely OPEN. Last year things didn't look so good, but they went ahead with the deal to put out their cookbook (which comes out in October) and part of the deal is that they stick around for a couple years.

As this thread is 6 years old, they are indeed closed and have been for quite some time.

They website looks current and it only says closed in hidden very small type snuck in on the bottom of the page

They could have reopened, duh. I should get points for looking for older informative points rather then just blindly posting.

It closed in May 2005, no plans on ever reopening. I would imagine the website stays current as you can probably order the cookbooks from there.
