Anybody been to Jacque Imo's lately? I used to be a big fan of the place, but I haven't been back in a long time. I keep hearing horror stories about 3 hour waits for tables. I hope it hasn't become a victim of it's own success.

I visited mid July and on Tues eve about 6 was told the wait would be 45 minutes. In fact it was about half that and was spent , very pleasantly , at the bar. The owner was moving from table to table, circulating among the people waiting. There was a wine tasting at the bar of which we did not partake. When we got a table everything was the usual: hectic, loud, and great food. Two in our party had never been before and they loved it.I always enjoy it.

Went to J-I's two weeks ago,for the first time and loved it. We got there around 8:30 on a Wed. night, and had to wait about an hour...we were ultimately seated with another couple (at a table for six), which was great as we were from out of town, and the couple was local. The server was super...very friendly, wrote down some suggestions for other places to go. The chef/owner came to our table and chatted for a while about the "godzilla". The host brought us a free round of drinks for agreeing to sit with the other couple, and our server brought us a free dessert. How could it get better? The atmosphere is wonderfully N.O. and the food was great. Our favorite was the oyster and brie soup. So, I'd go back in a minute.

Hey.

If you have a party of 6(?), you can make reservations. Of course, you then miss out on Jack pouring shots for the crowd outside. It's a great place, great atmosphere, and in any other town would be near the top of the list food-wise, but this is New Orleans, so us locals tend to visit only with guests.
