Reliable sources report that the ever-troublesome Tyler Florence "did a crawfish boil" the other night with---again--Old Bay Seasoning. Is this true? If so, who in Hell is paying this man to wreak such ruin on the world?

Old BAy is a fine celery salt/pepper combination.....but it is not fit for a Louisiana crawfish boil. I wonder why TF returns to OB all the time.... Hungry Celeste suggests that he's telegenic....yup, that's true I guess, but th' boy is jist lyin--or ignert--bout most deep south/Looziana cookin'.

Still like watching the show---kinda like watching Emeril screw something up.

Not only did he use Old Bay, but boiled TEN POUNDS OF CRAWFISH for THIRTY PEOPLE. Actually, when I was in Destin this spring, my husband and I bought shrimp at Sexton's and went to the Winn-Dixie where they were out of small size Zatarain's so I did use Old Bay and it wasn't bad.

I'll never forget when I was in Houston once and ordered crawfish. The waiter brought out a lobster bib and ONLY ONE POUND of crawfish. I thought it was hilarious. I know --- never order La food outside of La, but it was Houston. I thought it would be close :)

They haven't updated the Zatarain's website yet - it still says that they are privately owned - but they they are now owned by Maryland-based McCormick and Co., who also happen to make Old Bay!
