Discovery in the Marigny

I just got back from a week in New Orleans. Jazz fest, Rock'n Bowl and much more.
While having Chai at Flora's Cafe in the Marigny area I asked about the new restaurant " Aquarians" located on the top floor of a neighborhood bar directly across from the cafe.
While no one I talked to had ever been there, everyone I asked said "I have heard good things about the place."
I found out later that the restaurant has only been open for three month and they are not doing any type of advertisement other than word-of-mouth.
My friend and I had dinner there that night and really enjoyed it.
She asked to be taken there for her Birthday dinner two nights later again. We loved the ambiance that had been created ( it used to be a leather bar) and the quality and presentation of the food and the very personable service.
A young couple, he is a Chef who trained in California and his fiance' are running the show.
The menu is small at this time, limited to a few entrees, some pasta dishes, wonderful salads and several deserts, all are of high quality and done to your specifications.
The prices are quite reasonable and the restaurant location is off the beaten path (virtually no tourists).
The adress is: 705 Franklin, phone 504-944-7770.
They are closed on Mondays.
I would hightly recommend this restaurant to those of you who are willing to venture out into this somewhat bohemian part of the neighborhood in the rapidly becoming very "Hip" Marigny area before the prices rise and reservations will be difficult to come by.
