Could someone recommend a few good Italian restaurants in or near the French Quarter?
I like Irene's, at 539 St Philips St in the Quarter. It's mostly Italian, with some Provencal and local influences too. I heard it described as "creole Italian." Last time, we had nightly specials (osso bucco and stuffed manicotti) that were terrific.
on Decatur near Canal Street is the top Italian restaurant in the FQ. Opera singers on certain nights. Carmello's on Decatur across from the Brewery, I hear, is worth a try. Irene's is too long a wait.
