Reviews of Deanie's Seafood in Metairie?

Deanie's Seafood was featured on the "Food Find" show on the food network a few days ago. It looked like a good value place worth checking out. Anyone have an opinion of Deanie's Seafood? Thanks in advance for your help.

I am really surprised it was featured in food finds, cause I watch that show, and value their opinions.

Let me see how to put this, when we wanted to go out to a family restaurant with the whole bunch of kids we had (5), a great value and "decent" food, we went to Deanies. Get the picture.

Since the kiddies are all gone now, last one in college, I would NEVER set foot in there again.

Bargain prices, lots of piled high fried food, on top of piles of French Fries.

Now, I am not saying that I don't enjoy a good Fried Seafood Platter every now and then, I just wouldn't get it there.

If I had a hankering for a seafood platter, I would go just down the street of Deanies, and go Sidmar's, or Brunings.

I heard Mike Andersons closed its Metairie location, but they still have one in the Quarter.

Incidentally, Deanie's has just opened a branch in the French Quarter. I haven't been to either that location or the original, but the menu certainly looks like the usual, mostly fried, suspects.
