I tried to go about a month ago at 6:45 or so on a Tuesday night. We were told our party of 4 would have an hour and a half wait. Go early or late!

Get the fried chicken definitely - or the Cajun bouillabaise, or the fried green tomoatoes with shrimp remoulade. You will always wait, but that's part of the fun.

If you go with a party of 6 or more you can make reservations. So its worth finding some friends to go with, unless you don't mind the hour or more wait.

The food is excellent though.

Was there a few months ago -we had reservations. One of the best meals I've had in N.O. in a while (I travel there a few times a year). A definite must eat place. Crawfish/alligator cheesecake was incredible (the waitress forced it on us and we tipped her generously for that one). Their cornbread was pretty decadent too.

Thanks for the tip -- I'll just have to gather some friends for an evening of gorging. :) I've been dying to try the alligator cheesecake, which sounds perfectly decadent.
