Oyster Artichoke soup

H. Jac McCracken Aug 29, 2001 09:02 PM

Several of my friends and I are particular fans of oyster artichoke soup. The question is, who has the best version? I vote for Mandina's, but some prefer the Redfish Grill's offering. What do you say?

Definitely Mandina's version, which is more of a heavy stew than a soup, so full of artichoke quarters that you can barely eat it with the spoon they give you. A bowl of this offering with a half loaf of French bread makes for the perfect Lenten lunch, plus you get to tell people that you are fasting, having eaten only a bowl of soup for lunch.

The best I've ever tasted is at the Royal Street Cafe.
